He is an earthling, so if he had stayed, he would've put Buckman's party in danger, and he likes them too much to do that.

Thats part of it, but the main reason is because the monsters are like at least 50 levels too low for him, so he doesnt get exp at all. Him getting this new job was just chance and he mainly uses it as self-discovery phase.
