@homeslice Ark is a high level hunter. Cry wanted Ark to handle the request but since he wasn't available, they decided to replace quality with quantity.

Ark is known as a spartan leader, in which he only gives out quests with the least amount of people, and the least amount of information, which results in people having to use up to the limits of their abilities.

Which is why Tino didn't want to go to the dungeon he selected in the earlier chapters.

When he wanted to cut the numbers in half, everyone was in opposition because they thought he wanted to make the quest harder.

They wanted Cry to join because he have the highest level in the Guild, even higher than Ark. So they feel a lot safer if Cry was there.

@johnpoop2529 oh no it isn't. poor Tino here is just nothing but a sitting duck in the midst of the harem rivalry.

@HomeSlice as @mansurbm_ have said but to give more context by using the previous chapters:
White Wolf's Den is a Level 3 Dungeon that started to get more and more anomalous and dangerous for some unknown reason
caused by the robed dudes in chapter 17
. Cry who stupidly took the investigation and rescue quest unknowingly from Gark sent Tino and "friends" to investigate and rescue... much to their dismay.

Now with the incident, Cry mistakenly lost the slime Sytry made for him. It is highly dangerous and anomalous in itself. This created a parallel incident and 'causing Cry to act as shady as he can be with his foreboding actions (it really just him being super duper worried on where the effin' hell the slime is). This caused everyone around him mistakenly think that the anomaly in White Wolf's Den is far more sinister and dangerous and is now on high alert status.

Cry has no interest whatsoever in the happenings in White Wolf's Den. He only cares about retrieving the lost slime since the thought of the capital burning due to said slime is haunting him. All of his mulling over this has made the people around him mistook at as him wondering what's up with the White Wolf's Den anomaly. Gark from the Explorer's Guild and Eva, Cry's secretary are basically acting out of the "warning signs" Cry has been "showing".

This result in the gathering of those Explorers in massive quantity. Cry just wanted to shove the responsibility to Ark and call it a day but Ark is busy mingling with some nobles. He thinks of the White Wolf's Den as nothing and suggested that half of the explorers present are enough, much to the dismay of everyone there. Luckily for them, Cry said he'd go with them but under one condition, first he must attend something beforehand and after that, he'll join and take command. What and where Cry will go is a spoiler.

That's pretty much it.

This works well as a comedy, but not so much other wise. I love that the MC at this point just hates his own position that he was forced into and has no awareness of the weight of what he says. At this point even being honest about his skill and denouncing his role probably wouldn’t work and just cause mass chaos and pandemonium.

@xxxNothingxxx But that's the thing about luck outside of a curse or special ability though. As in you should not factor in your luck when planning your move, and treat it as if it wasn't even there.

Only then if things go awry, sure your luck might kick in and sorts it out, but again it might not.
