I thought about comparing him to an incel but with standards and honour, but thinking about it more the only thing he shares with them is the desperation to get laid. He's sometimes a bit shady in his approach, but he's always considerate and wouldn't actually harm anyone with his treatment.

He's also far more successful than he thinks he is, but doesn't know how to follow up on it, so he misses the chances he gets. And that's not even talking about Oakley, who shares several of his traits.
