"It was not impossible."
"It was impossible."
Damn narrator, make up your mind already.

Ah, the old, "kill the hostage" solution. Honestly, Evans is right on point here.

The only one who could ever beat Oakley for saving the day is Evans. And both of them would rather cozy up in front of a camp fire. Pretty sure the readers agree with that.

Let's aim for Oakley my man, Evan!
He just needs to pull the trigger. Or she does. Either way works.

I mean, before Oakley walked in, can we just go over the fact that

HOLY SHIT EVANS THERE SHE IS! YOU FINALLY FOUND THE FANGIRL FAWNING OVER THE FACT THAT YOURE A COOL SHERIFF! SHE EXISTED ALLL ALONG.

Oh... but here's Oakley. Back to the scheduled "will they, won't they" rom com I guess.

Well you know Evans did his best to get a date with Sandra. But Sandra was way too nervous and had to rely on the shifty Russel to communicate with him. And I'm not quite sure Russel was conveying her honest feelings...

Russel's a bad dude though, he tried to use this opportunity to get a henchman to free him. Good thing Oakley was there to save the day! She and Evans might be a bit too busy making eyes at each other though, so that might give Russel's henchmen an opportunity to do some sneaky stuff...

Kurt was pretty philosophical here, but I agree with him. Money has value, but what do you place value on it? Evans was right to doubt Sandra's intentions. Does she really care more about money than her own brother?

I mean, what do you expect? It would be pretty unsatisfying if, after all their mutual pining, Evans ended up getting together with a random groupie who's only been in two chapters. It's like with Shiragami in Jitsu wa Watashi wa, from pretty much as soon as she was introduced in the first volume, it's been obvious that Oakley is the true endgame, and once the two of them finally get together, the manga's over. It's not a matter of "if", only "when" and "how".

Yeah, I get that.

I'm just happy his whole thing was kind of validated.

And I am admittedly lukewarm with ye ol' "will they won't they", because as you said, yeah, we know they will, just kiss already and stop half assing that plot.

I mean, we have the assassination plot going, we have a storyline even if the romance actually happen. So come on, just commit to it.

It's such a tired troupe.
