Romance is always sad and rarely light. But if you insist, read Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov.

Perhaps this hits the mark: https://mangadex.org/title/11669982...2bcc/ninja-shinobu-san-no-junjou?tab=chapters (Shinobu's Pure Heart). It shouldn't have anything sad going on and feels light and finished with 30 chapters, though I read it a long time ago.

I would recommend The Shepherd King, finished in only two volumes.
