I suspect the series is nearing its end, with Lily remaining as Rose's sex slave forever, while Anna is left heartbroken and tries to move on, deeply devastated.

I guess the people who thought this was some sort of toxic love triangle must feel silly.

It's a shallow porn story, but Lily's behavior ruins it. Her treatment of Anna is awful and takes all the enjoyment out of the story.

Anna didn't reject Lily outright. Anna is painfully aware of her social standing both a commoner and a maid. Anna does love Lily, but, she can't ever actually love her. We even saw Anna grappling with the notion of actually showing her love to Lily a few chapters back, but, she was conflicted by her standing and her issues with what she perceives a "love".

You are right that Lily is starved for attention and affirmation, but, she's mixing lust and love, which is letting the Duchess easily manipulate her.

she rejected her outright is pretty commmon to realize that if someone told you that she not gonna have sex with you to take this as rejection of romantic love because lust and love are not that much sepparated from each other
which yes Anna cleary rejected Lily love in romantical way and make Lily think her love is like for a friend or family not romantical which why Lily go after Rose which make only one person here as someone good and is Lily who don't hurt anyone else by her own means what Rose and Anna are doing
