Kinda unfortunate of this manga tho. The author of the novel its adapted from passed away due to health issues so this manga probably won't go very far. It'll either stay where it is or be adapted to what is released as a novel but either way it'll never be complete. Though the worst part is obviously the poor author and his family who had to see him go.
I loved the lighthearted novel version of the story, but the manga's sense of progression feels odd, and it's not just the halfway decent translation quality that's causing that feeling of oddity.
@KamiKira00 : it is not that no one can do anything, but that no one is bothering. They all took an immediate dislike to him for talking to the guild idol/poster girl/marriage target like he was a normal receptionist, muscle heads getting jealous that their crush is showing kindness to another man, and a kid to young for her at that (somewhere around a 10 year age difference IIRC
she is the local crush, and a retired high ranking adventurer, and they are muscle heads only seeing their crust "flirting" (normally talking to) an "inferior" man
Not that the guild matters much for the story, if it follows the WN, the guild master will make a very unreasonable demand after a certain event no to far in the future, that Myne leaves the guild rather then follow
receptionist eventually ends up leaving he as well guild and marrying Myne
along with the kings daughter (who proposes because of Myne's Judgement skill, the royalty practice a form of eugenics with skills marrying people with strong and valuable skills)
@sjmcc13 that's not what I meant. If you have rules but no one to uphold them, then that means guild is basically lawless group of people. Guild members clearly have no obligation to uphold rules, that means they should have someone to act as police there. Given that they don't, them saying something isn't allowed is stupid.
Also, it seems that guild doesn't have any punishment in place for rule breaking (like suspension of guild support for month or something).
So basically this manga is stupid
@KamiKira00 : because you are demanding unreasonable standards. and are making stuff up to cover your illogical rants.
Ideally the other adventurers should take action, but they do not have to, and in general are not going to risk injury for no compensation.
The "argument" about needing some police/security does not hold, that is like saying we need police on hand in dive bars in case a fight breaks out, ya they will have some form of bouncer, but so they react before the fight starts (which is what you are requiring), or break it up after both sides have worn themselves down a little?
Also, it seems that guild doesn't have any punishment in place for rule breaking (like suspension of guild support for month or something).
NO IT FUCKING DOES NOT. So far there is absolutely nothing indicating one way or the other. They do not have to state that here is a punishment for there to be one, especially when is involves someone who is not a guild member (yet) and is likely covered by local laws as well as. So from the guild members actions there is not indication there is none (actually his reaction to the guild master seem to indicate that there is something). As for his actions, if being told you are breaking the rules was enough to cause people to stop we would not have any where near the levels of stupid crimes that we do in the world. Idiots get lost in their emotions and do not act rationally.
Heck usually the punishments are monetary compensation, but that can not always be discussed until after the fact.
The only way to justify saying that there is no punishment or rules enforcement is for him to get away and no one to do anything afterwards, but since this is still in the act that is not met yet.
the idiot is getting booted from the guild has to either pay reparations, or lose his arms
To put it simply This guy is a hot headed idiot muscle-head and no one is going to get in his way, until ordered. But that does not mean there are no rules.
@sjmcc13 I don't see anything illogical with thinking that any business should and have a way to deal with bad customers. I just said that if that attacker doesn't care for rules, it means that there aren't really any repercussions to him (there will be because plot armor and guild master).
If they implemented punishment like suspension of licence (adventurer) or add more taxes for a month or something, then any guild member wouldn't openly attack anyone in guild house.
I see nothing illogical in thinking this way because in earth every business operates this way (of course we also have police).
Argument of needing a police or bouncers is just one of few suggestions given on how to uphold rules.
Now, you mentioned punishment being monetary compensation. That is also stupid, because punishment is meant to make people obey the rules. Monetary compensation to business which earns almost the most amount of money, monetary compensation is nothing (seen as he didn't care about rules when attacking). It means that their current system is stupid and doesn't work.
That is all I am saying that guild like this wouldn't last. And author forgets basic logic in order to add an event in his/her manga.
