Fixed the image, if it helps your confusion. This is the 1st chapter where I've kind of agreed with the grooming accusations that flooded the 1st few chapters
It's a viable strategy for writing age gap-- make the adult so naive and/or incompetent that they're more likely to be groomed by a child, than the other way around.Instead of he grooming her, we get her "grooming?" him
The issue is that even if his letter was completely innocent (and I’m sure it was) it can still be perceived as improper by giving her hope. It encourages her to continue to approach him as a romantic interest. You guys are assuming that he wrote a love letter to her, when given his already demonstrated denseness and upstanding behavior, his letter was most certainly just a very professional "thank you" where he acts more or less like a school teacher giving advice and praise to a star student in their class in response to said student taking a great effort to demonstrate how much they respect and admire the teacher for what they've done to them.
Oh sure, she would see it as little to no different from an actual love letter, but most people wouldn't bat an eye.
Let just use "literature"she must be killing it in English class
edit: oh wait, it'd be Japanese huh
It feels like he should be putting the cuffs on himself here doesn’t it?
I know it's supposed to cute and innocent but do NOT exchange love letters with an Elementary schooler on VALENTINE'S DAY. 😭😭😭😭
Uh, he gave her a letter as a "return gift" for White Day (March 14th), which is a day in Japan where men who received a gift on Valentines Day give a return gift. If he sees her around that much, then I wouldn't see why he wouldn't write a "thank you" letter in a "how cute, I'll respect this kid's innocent feelings" kinda way. This is the 1st chapter where I've kind of agreed with the grooming accusations that flooded the 1st few chapters
I think he’s only 30. Maybe he joined the force fresh out of highschool.Uh, he gave her a letter as a "return gift" for White Day (March 14th), which is a day in Japan where men who received a gift on Valentines Day give a return gift. It doesn't really help that he's depicted as the same age after like 10 years though. You'd think he'd have a few wrinkles or a grey hair or two.
