Kon will carry this manga just like Kana did with OnK. I can see it already

Am I the ony one here who doesn't outright hate Mari? Even though I wouldn't say she's my favorite, quite far from it, at least I get it where she's coming from. Now if only she could get out of being under her sorry-excuse-of-a-mother's influence though...

By the way, nice chapter. I guess we're getting into the reasons why Kon is essentially a hikki, at lest partially. From what I get, she was basically kind of a class clown, a role in which you try to please everyone, except it was taken in a different way due to her being a girl and her looks, and ended up alienating everyone, at least from her viewpoint. Maybe I'm taking it the wrong way though.
dont worry ... you are not alone.... this stupid haters is just too dumb, and doesnt have anything else to comment (always about mari 🤓)

I don't hate her. Broken characters are the ones most rife for character development. And for her case, most of it origins with her mother and things out of her own control. In that regard, even Kon has it easier, since she's so much more self-aware, and should've been a better person. So she also has some growing up to do. And our MC, while a great person, probably won't change too much.

Slightly tangentially, most of the time when someone says, "Am I the only one?" the answer is no, and the question is just a dumb attention-seeking ploy. But in this case I think it's a fair question, since she seems universally hated.
It wasn't really attention-seeking on my part, I'm just a 30-around-year old boomer who's tired of hate around him tbh :boomer: Then again, I'm also posting here, so the irony is not entirely lost on me.

That is to say, it's hard not to have a strong opinion on Mari, she was created exactly that way by Aka in order to provoke his readers and I guess you can measure a popularity of a series by how much dedicated haters do they have, including the characters themselves. One just needs to look at the discussions around Kaguya-sama or OnK (to mention other series by Aka), they're a bloody cesspool; and I personally love both of those series and most of the characters as well and their faults are exactly what makes them endearing most of the time, at least for me.
