@Oeconomist I left out "potential" fully on purpose because he's already showing great results. It could still all be destroyed, but until that point he's solidly on the good path to have something going on for him in life. He's even helping other people already, which is pretty big for an asocial (ex-)delinquent. If your original sentence the "potential", however, is naturally needed because nothing has been a catastrophe so far. If Nagai and Hinohara never cross a certain line, nothing would ever happen either. Although I suppose someone could start to spread rumours, which might result in dire consequences even without anything having happened.

If you don't reveal your own stance, people will make their own assumptions. That's how the Internet works, and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

Having a large group of students pick-up on the romantic dimension of the relationship between Hirohana and Nagai is a discernible movement towards catastrophe. If these two don't meet with disaster, it will only be because the author makes implausible choices. So, no, I didn't and don't need to use the word “potential” more than did you.

It's true enough that many people are irrational on the Internet, but that didn't somehow license you to join them. Don't snark at people based upon your pure conjectures.

why i love mizutani fuka's works is that the expressions are really great even though the art can be simple. civilised discussions in the comments are nice to read to hehe

@Oeconomist What large group? Let's be honest, still in middle school if a female teacher is giving one-to-one lessons to a male student, it could potentially lead to mouthing off. Although since Nagai is the famous delinquent, it's entirely possible that would keep people from getting on his case, in fear of getting their asses kicked. What does this mean, though? It means that nobody would pay much attention to random talk with no evidence. Everybody, aside from the gullible, would think it's nothing but the usual youthful mockery and teasing.

Can't say that I blame the nurse for going off on Shiki. She's just trying to curry favor with the nurse, and satisfy her own selfish desires toward Kanata, and interfering in other people's lives to do it.

So, from what I figure, the Nurse has moved from being bitter over Hinohara not reciprocating to being satisfied at simply seeing her get along g with Nagai .i.e. I want my beloved to be happy type of feeling. Shiki, is not only disrupting that happiness but is inadvertently twisting the knife and dredging up stuff that Hajima has likely already put to rest regarding her feelings for Hinohara.

In other words, shiki thinks, that if hajima, who is basically her guiding light at this point, can get her girl, than Shiki would be able to get hers. Hajima, is pushing Shiki, to be the shoulder for Kanata just like she is for hinohara.

Basically, shiki is being punished for being a bad friend

At the least, Class 2-B. You're quite right that people can be teased as if they are romantically involved when they are not believed to be, with the teasing not intended to be taken serious or otherwise to cause harm. But even those cases can prove to be disastrous. In this case, what's being sensed is real. Moreover, an investigation that was begun on a basis pro forma, expected to find nothing, could get reactions both from Hirohana and from Nagai that could be interpretted as indications of guilt.

People need to pay better attention to what Haijima has said, especially pages 317 through 319.

And my guess is that things will take a very unhappy turn for Hirohana and Nagai, with the latter being collateral damage.

@Oeconomist I have finally had enough! This is the last straw! In all of your posts you have mistyped the music teacher's name as Hirohana, when the correct form is Hinohara. Even if it's some clever joke I don't recognise due to not having much Japanese skills, I can't let it slide anymore. Grrr!

I wouldn't be so sure of any catastrophe happening. While this is not a super fluffy series, it feels like this is not so gruesome either. Maybe they will get a good scare, but that's it. Personally I hope they won't do anything really romantic anyway for the time being. If they could wait until Nagai is at least a high schooler and thus not directly her student in a school setting anymore, it would already be a whole lot better. They would also need to meet somewhere else than in a school music classroom once he's not a middle schooler anymore, which would reduce all risks considerably.

Although Nagai+Hinohara is my favourite would-be-couple in the series, in some strange way I actually appreciate Hinohara saving Nagai from the path of a delinquent and potentially a wasted adult more than any romantic potential in their relationship. That's the primary reason why I don't want anything bad to happen to them. Because if something happens, realistically Nagai would become an even worse delinquent than he used to be, from all the disappointment, frustration, anger, and other negative feelings such an incident would cause.

I'm sorry about getting that name wrong. These days, I am generally using a cell-phone, which causes me sometimes to misread, and other times to mis-type.

I don't except actual ruin for Hinohara or Nagai; but, as I said, I expect things to take a very unhappy turn. Shiki will probably be instrumental in preventing catastrophe, as she realizes what is happening and finds the strength to act against it.

Why is the school nurse getting so involved with this? Just leave the 14-year olds be, wtf. So what your big secret might get out, you're going to threaten this student over your unrequited crush?

This comic has always been weird in how it presents adults that, without a second thought, are fine with dating/grooming children, but this is a new type of strange.
