Is this some Japanese idea, trying to imply a sense of 'comedy' that I'm too European to understand?
This plot would be much better with an 'alpha' / adult MC
(At least some sense of logic, Seriously picking nose on the serious situation, Hilarious right ? How is this Seinen -> to young adults ??)
It's the typic Japanese MC all over again.

Anyone knows something similar, or actually almost identic where the MC goes into training hard to beat the demon king but once he is there either he meets her daughter or his daughter saves his dad and MC falls hard for her (Or she was the 'demon king' all along). Possibly working towards peace without having to fight her or even joining their side after some talk over their motivation?
I feel like this was already done, but not sure

@WhiteEkans it's the gap between a super strong character and his stupid personality that makes it funny/cute/likeable. The contradiction between what you would expect from a hero and how he actually acts is what makes it funny.

You might actually be spot on about the cultural thing though, since it's true that we don't have that many gap moe characters in European comedy.
