@Kaarme Purikura editing came BEFORE the phone filters and it was actually the main draw of purikura to begin with. The filters were first marketed as purikura replacement in Japan and Korea.

@Kaarme You have a good point that a lot of this is Himeno wanting to be mature in general and seeing a super idealized romance as a big component of that, but there's also been plenty of times where she gets flustered because of Ouji even when it's not nearly as fanciful or dreamy that indicates she really does like him rather than just the idea of him. In the very first chapter, she's blushing just because she managed to touch him for the first time (... by pushing him over) and half the punchlines are her enjoying spending time with him in a way that's completely different from what she envisioned.

He's right, it really does look like a different person. If you ask me, the editing part of it created a creepy kid.

I wasn't aware mothers are obligated to buy all of their kid's clothes. In fact, nowadays it's kind of the opposite of what these characters suggest for the most part for me.

I bet the author uses less brain cells while making this than what we do while debating over what it means

That last punchline, I felt that

@sssr In fact I had a slight inkling that might be the case, analogous to how in the 80's and still early 90's arcade gaming machines were a lot ahead of any home gaming systems.

@AWildDUK I wrote my comment very one-sidedly on purpose, to underline the point. It's not like she'd be a robot, not feeling anything. It's already a big step to try to initiate a romance, even if she doesn't quite understand it, so naturally she would have plenty of feelings invested. Kids enjoy spending time with other (friendly) kids in any case, playing together, so it makes sense she would enjoy Ouji's company naturally, especially when she forgets the whole romance thing and behaves like a normal kid herself.

Himeno's thirst is leaking out a bit but as a result, we finally see Ouji ever so slightly feel something that isn't fear.

@bastek66 I mean you could argue arcades and to a lesser extent cinemas have less of a reason to exist now, but I suppose it's about the experience.

Plus you get the physical photo printed right there, which you can't do with a phone as easily.
