I always used to wonder about that "spitting out a mouthful of drink when shocked" thing you very often see in fiction. But now I know it actually happens in RL too. In Youtube shorts there are Americans, often working as a pair, who fill their mouth with a drink, then they start doing something, like watching videos or photos, apparently competing in who can explode the contents of their mouth in the most remarkable (=disgusting) manner possible, when surprised. The world is a strange place.
