I hate this ending. I was rooting for the cupid, and then he chooses that bland childhood friend.

The fact that he chose his childhood friend is what makes it special; how many stories have you seen that have a MC having a childhood friend who likes him, and that ENDS with her winning??

The author got the idea from Nise koi in a fully wrong way and created an even shittier ending that absolutely made no sense at all. Even if it got axed, he should have stuck to the harem ending instead of ruining it thoroughly by some last chapters.

He never really had a harem; all the monsters only liked him because of his power. The only one who truly love him was his childhood friend, so the ending makes sense.

The MC ending up falling in love with his tomboyish childhood friend.... that sounds like a good one to me.
