it didn't say that she put up fake pics or anything. it's very interesting how this manga portrays the struggle of single caretakers. they should become drinking buddies

I'm so glad she found a kindred spirit, heartbreaking that girl got stood up BC the guy wasn't even polite enough to say to her she wasn't what he expected and he's sorry for that.
I have sadly heard that happens a lot with folks, but especially women who aren't conventionally attractive. (Also disabled people, god people are jerks).
Poor kid is trying her best though, wish her older sister had hired a part time adult carer to help out with grandma and mum. There's no way that she should've left her then 14-15 yo sister and elderly grandma to care for mum...and then left her with both when grandma got too unwell too.
At least MC seems like she's going to become a potential safety net for the poor kid. Like esp since what happens to her family members if there's ever a date she NEEDS to be away from home or is herself unable to do anything (like idk suddenly appendicitis). Short notice care in that case would be super necessary.

if not draggin a neighbor into it
Nice of her to waive the fee but considering it was a last minute/beg that the manager would demand payment up front if not charge them twice
i can imagine online dating apps in jp would be shallow considering there's legit paid companies for matchmaking, but more towards marriage
She said 'face and body' so i think it implies that she didn't do any kinda headshots, filtering or not, but unless it's just the art style you can kinda tell just looking at her face/chin but i can imagine some places don't have selfies but something more casual like a speed dating thing might've been better. Not that she can't find her own happiness but if she's stuck taking care of her grandma i'd prolly focus on working/saving more money first to be able to pay for long term care before starting a relationship unless she happens to get lucky meeting a male nurse or doctor
But tbf, while it is kinda shitty, being fat is kinda not the norm in jp compared to being obese in america so it's something ppl would know/be used to, if anything feels like they should explicitly put 'fat' in their bio even if that might attract chubby chasers
