no shit its shitty its my first chapter after all ill try to improve
I wish you success. It's always fun when my hyperfixations send me down the scanlation editing rabbit hole.
Some suggestions:
1. A better font might be good. I have a host that I like, some I've paid for, some I downloaded. My personal favorite is
Wildwords or
Wildwords Lower as it was the suggested font in my first Manga scanlation tutorial (and it's commonly pirated; the company has yearly sales where everything's like $20 so, I own it now, hah).
If I was going to suggest one good free one I've used before, it'd be
Canted Comic. Checking out the
fonts that Kindle reader like can also help, as anything that is good on the eyes on an eReader is going to be good for manga.
Some quick suggestions off Google's font page:
Noto Sans,
Bitter,
Lora,
Raleway,
Literata,
Lexend,
Roboto.
Average is pretty good.
Caecilia especially, Caecilia Condensed.
Charink.
Just don't use Comic Sans. Use Comic Neue instead.
2. Center the text, always, and try and center it vertically as well.
3. Reading the text aloud can catch some hiccups with word choice. Having a proofreader might also help. If all else fails, you can ask ChatGPT or some other LLM/AI to proofread the text for you. Something like "I am editing a manga script and wanted to verify the following text sounds like proper conversational English: [paste the text here]" Gemini and Copilot are good for this.
