Yes it is fun.

What did I just read? And I know it's isekai, but why are they speaking in a foreign language all of a sudden?
I also have a proposal: Let the previous group do this in peace.

Was this dropped by the previous group?

This leaves quite a lot to be desired, desu-wa...
this was translated from a portuguese scanlation, in fact in page 21 they even left the PT text in uliminas background because they could not even be arsed to properly clean it.

Luminscans
no shit its shitty its my first chapter after all ill try to improve
Did you got permission from the portuguese scanlators to use their release?

I have no idea if the translation is bad, but it sure doesnt read well in english. Thank you for the attempt, I hope it doesnt discourage you from improving

Did you have a particular need to snipe a series that hadn't been dropped and was being translated with quality?

Did you ask for permission to use the Brazilian scan? You certainly didn't credit anybody, or left any note in the scanlation itself about what you're doing.

There's a lot of issues here before we even talk about the shit quality of your work. Not to say we are ungrateful for scanlations, but there are some lines that are just baffling to cross here. Don't expect thanks or constructive criticism when your attitude is the thing that's shitty.

Actually Luminscans has just entirely airbrushed out inconveniently placed text and hoped nobody noticed the gaps. The text originally there has been left untranslated, and the PT text that was left in seem more like oversights.

I can't understand Portuguese, but if I assume the PT scan is accurate and by reading the JP raw, this one's not just poorly translated, even some of the text in the bubbles have been truncated or completely replaced by nonsense with no relation to the original version. Even a straight MTL of the jp version would have been better.

I wish you success. It's always fun when my hyperfixations send me down the scanlation editing rabbit hole.

Some suggestions:

1. A better font might be good. I have a host that I like, some I've paid for, some I downloaded. My personal favorite is Wildwords or Wildwords Lower as it was the suggested font in my first Manga scanlation tutorial (and it's commonly pirated; the company has yearly sales where everything's like $20 so, I own it now, hah).
If I was going to suggest one good free one I've used before, it'd be Canted Comic. Checking out the fonts that Kindle reader like can also help, as anything that is good on the eyes on an eReader is going to be good for manga.
Some quick suggestions off Google's font page: Noto Sans, Bitter, Lora, Raleway, Literata, Lexend, Roboto. Average is pretty good. Caecilia especially, Caecilia Condensed. Charink.
Just don't use Comic Sans. Use Comic Neue instead.

2. Center the text, always, and try and center it vertically as well.

3. Reading the text aloud can catch some hiccups with word choice. Having a proofreader might also help. If all else fails, you can ask ChatGPT or some other LLM/AI to proofread the text for you. Something like "I am editing a manga script and wanted to verify the following text sounds like proper conversational English: [paste the text here]" Gemini and Copilot are good for this.
