Having now caught up, my favorite thing about this series is that there aren't any "villains" so much as there are "bumbling dorks that criss cross double cross each other's paths".

That said, anyone else get the vibe that Oji-san Lich might actually be way more competent/dangerous than he's letting on? He keeps stumbling upwards, and given how all the ambitious types are utter failures, that makes him conspicuously the opposite.

I don't think it was visible, Blonde Hero has a lot of experience with pitfall traps. Yuigarde is lucky he managed to catch himself, if the Hero had used that magic shovel to make a wider pit, he might have finally fulfilled his promise from when he was summoned.
