The tribe that supposedly transformed into wolves once a year is actually the Neuri, who were described by Herodotus (he didn't believe the tales though)
And he was most likely correct, it was probably just a cult or celebration where they dressed up as wolves

@Sleabedybarb Thank you for the tip! I was a little stumped since I was under the assumption it related to the Mongols per Soup-sensei's preferred subject matter (so moreso wolf-ish manner of combat) but this makes more sense. I'll make the appropriate edit/addition soon.

Overall I liked this oneshot. The ending does feel a bit anticlimactic, but I guess that makes sense because the doctor really was trying to support the Vizier, even if he had unconventional methods.

Great oneshot and great translation.
My first thought re: steppe wolf people was the Turkic foundation myth where they're descendants of the wolf Asena (according to wikipedia some Mongol ethnic groups also have wolf descendant myths) but the Neuri thing sounds more likely given the blue eyes and Greek texts.
