The game was rigged from the start. She would never have stopped haunting him, even if he lived on. As soon as she confessed to him when they were alive, he was doomed.

The only thing that might have made a difference is if he hadn't murdered her. Like, if she died in an unrelated traffic accident, maybe she wouldn't have haunted him.
Not entirely. Even if he was unrelated to her death, her intense feelings for him would’ve remained as a means to tether her to the world of the living.

Say she was fussing that he wasn’t reading her texts or that she didn’t know his location, and she stumbled into traffic due to her not paying attention to her surroundings.

Her final insane thoughts could’ve been that he was with another girl and vowed to not leave his side again.

Lmfao, the twist is insane. Literally how gaslighting works irl. Filled him with guilt till he pushed himself to suicide while forgetting she pulled a knife on him, invaded his privacy and made his life a living nightmare.

Re-reading this just got a laugh out of me. I still find it hard to feel sorry for him when we're never shown him being a proper boyfriend or even just be nice to her at least once when she was still alive, especially when she still seemed normal before she escalated the stalking.

It's still a "serves you right" story for me. She was crazy and super creepy when alive, but when you take a step back and think about it, she has actually never physically harmed anybody, unlike him who responded to threatening words with murder instead of, y'know... breaking up. Then call the cops if she continued to stalk him after breaking up. He had plenty of evidence she was stalking him after all.

Now she can bang him for eternity without fear of any consequences

Omg I finally found this again. Can't believe this was the first manga I ever read. I remember the ending hitting me really hard when I first read it.

Gotta agree with Sara that he's a big idiot...
I'm far from a smart man, but how could he not think of the possibility that Sara wanting to drag him?
Sara acted normal and he forgot about the tracker and knife?
Sigh, but I guess his mind was indeed clouded by guilt after all. Worsened by Sara itself is damn smart.
You'd be amazed at what gaslighting can do. This kind of thing is why people have trouble leaving abusive relationships.
