Lol 😆 I already won in life. I have a wife and kids. And the only reason you want me off is because you are insecure and only view relationships on a surface level. I feel bad for you. Because you will never be their for your own partner. Lol 🤣 🤣 🤣
Man, i wish you the best, because if you're married with kids and still are getting this heated and spouting off this sort of immature, creepy and misogynistic bullshit just because you read a comic about a woman being widowed, I can only imagine what weird mental hang-ups you're dealing with. You're projecting a LOT of your insecurities onto folks in this thread and it's kinda sad that you're accusing anyone of only viewing relationships "at surface level" while giving the most superficial and vain assessments of the relationships in this story.

Good luck with the wife, dude. I do not envy whatever weird "virgin marriage" you are bragging about 😒

People act like this story is incredibly complex... a widow lost her husband, and a guy failed to build a career or rather, he just couldn't get his act together. The woman has to process what happened you can't deny that, lol (for obvious reasons) and the guy needs a strong pillar of support to build him up. They help each other out until a romance develops. We'll see if they end up together. I’d be fine with the male and female leads pairing up with other people, too. But I don't think the protagonist is a "cuck" just because he still has feelings for her after she married someone else. That’s just how life goes. If they do get together, it’s fate and good for them. Still, some people act like the story has the complexity of Berserk, Attack on titan or Good night punpun... which is kind of kinda funny. :lul:
Seriously, it is NOT that deep a set-up but the misogynists these comments are just pouring their insecurties into this story and are making up some wild ideas about what is happening. Some dudes genuinely cannot seem to fathom that women are people and don't just magically soul-bond to a single partner the second they feel some infatuation and can never feel differently again.

Absolutely. If she actually falls for Otaku-kun, I don’t see a problem with that.People act as if they would live chastely for all eternity if their partner were to die. They would be the first one who would jump to the next best.(pathetic) However, if the drama with her husband drags on until the final story arc and she keeps seeing her husband in Otaku-kun (I know she’s drunk, but I mean if this happens repeatedly and she doesn’t reciprocate Otaku-kun’s feelings) then I can certainly understand the frustration(Not the frustration of misogynists) but that of people who might be hoping for a romance with a dash of drama. But as I said in the previous comment: I’d like it if they both ended up with other partners, allowing their relationship to be viewed as a friendship in which they were important sources of support for one another during a specific phase of their lives.

That would be a really refreshing twist to the plot. We do not get enough manga with postive platonic relationships between guys and gals, especially ones where there's a romance that didn't work out. Off the top of my head the only one I can think of is maybe "I Hope You're Happy, Lemon", where that seems to be the entire focus of the plot.

It's surprising how foreign it is to some folks that 2 people that were romantically interested in eachother (or where such feelings were unrequited by one of them) would want to be friends even if the romance doesn't happen or failed. Like why would you want to date/marry someone if you couldn't even enjoy eachothers company?

Lol 😆 I must have hit a nerve

I find your post baffeling in that you're focusing on virginity when (hopefully) the only reason it's important in your marriage is b/c it's indicative of values you and your wife share. Those values don't go away when a spouse dies, which is what's happening in this manga.

Lol 😆 of course I am focused on virginity. Because people are absolutely disgusting today. Nothing in relationships are special anymore. So, when you hear a story about me. that I actually valued myself by keeping the deed until I found the one. You attack me because deep down you realize. you screwed up. And you are now a hollow shell of your former self. Lol 🤣 🤣 🤣

You guys are legitimate losers for insisting it’s a cuck story just because she is widowed and lamenting over her ex-husband. Obviously when the person you vow to spend the rest of your life with dies, there’ll be a lingering feeling of loss at what could’ve been. Still, that doesn’t automatically mean you’re soul bonded to that person.

Relationships don’t materialize in an instant. They take time to develop, and oftentimes aren’t about finding the best person but instead about finding the best person for you. Your lover should be someone who is always there to support you and be in your corner, which it seems to be how this story will develop with Keita helping tsubaki deal with unresolved guilt and her supporting his mangaka ambitions.

She “settled” (in the sense that she found someone she felt truly comfortable with) with another man, but that doesn’t automatically mean she’ll never make a connection that deep ever again. I didn’t think it’d have to be said that this story is going to revolve around her moving on from her past and creating a future with MC, but some readers are so porn rotted or poisoned by shitty romcoms to where they believe that it’s high treason to write a romance that doesn’t follow the predestined pure love highschool romance route.

If the story stagnates and she spends the rest of it comparing Keita to her ex and using him as a rebound then I’ll be more inclined to call it cuckbait, but we’re literally only 7 chapters in be for real.
Genuinely, what is wrong with this interpretation of the story? I noticed that no one has actually debunked the cuck allegations. While I dont think it will be a cuck story, this chapter and the chapter before it literally has cuck elements the author intentionally wrote in (the dream in chapter 6 and tsubaki being drunk and seeing her husband in otakei). Not a single person is upset that their relationship didnt happen instantly, its the author portraying otakei in these odd situations that make him in a "cuck-like" role.

I know the irony of these two sentences is completely lost on you, but it still got a chuckle out of me. Idk that you know what "name calling" even is. Did you mean to reply to a different comment? Also, you must really not like women if you even imagine any dissenting voices that call out your creepy misogyny are just spurned women. Like I am a man, buddy, and you just sound like a little frustrated boy.

You aren't making "points" to argue against, dude, you're just making embarrassing, provocative outbursts that may as well be complaining about girls having cooties. Enjoy getting in the last word in after this, it seems like you really need it. Enjoy your manga, I am going to carry on enjoying having slept with more than one woman.

Folks being hung up on their lost love is very much not a gendered thing; while widowers tend to remarry quicker, that's b/c of the benefits of marriage to men.
You just undid your own argument in the same sentence you made it lmao.
Benefits be damned if you're grieving a loss, you don't truly love the person if "benefits" can make you move on faster.

That's just misogyny.

"Women and men are different" in a lot of ways, but you cannot tell me that no man would behave in the manner Tsubaki is, because grief and projection are in no way linked to gender.

Tsubaki is drunk after going to her husband's grave and running into/being accosted & then rejected by his sister. She's stressed, hurt, in need of an escape, and turned to the numbing comfort of alcohol, and then the person she is close to and has reconnected with from years before.

She's in a vulnerable state and not thinking clearly, and the emotional turmoil & alcohol has her acting rashly in the moment.
Calling me a mysoginyst means nothing and only makes your points weaker by making that the focus.

No men on average will not behave the same way she did. They'd pass out on a random alley or in their own home if similarly abusing alcohol. (Dont pretend exceptions disprove my point, they do not).

Lmao literally word for word the same argument women use after being caught getting piped down by a random bloke and ruining a 10 year marriage.

But that isn't her using him or turning him into a substitute for her dead husband, in the way that some insist on insinuating.
Yes, she's in a vulnerable state and Otakei's back sparked a memory of riding on the back of that motorcycle. That sort of association happens all the time in all manner of ways, and Tsubaki being drunk means she'll act impulsively in such an emotionally charged situation. Shs's not intentionally trying to use Otakei, nor is she looking to "replace" her husband.
The author literally replaced otakei in one drawing for the husband in the next. Sure ill grant she isnt doing it intentionally, but she still did it.

Because Otakei and her husband are different people, and represent different things to Otakei specifically. Talking about him being some sort of "spare" just sounds like people haven't experienced enough life to know that having more than one relationship, or different kinds of relationships at different points, is actually a thing.
Literally nobody says having different relationships isnt a thing. What im saying is she will, consciously or not, willingly or not, compare the man to all her previous experiences. There is damn good reason all cultures all over the world placed so much valur on chaste women of virtue.

Modernity will not make reality go away because it hurts your feelings. Calling me a mysogynist wont change the truth: men and women fundamentally think differently and grieve differently. A man will settle and accept what he has, a woman is biologically programmed to keep comparing

I've read enough of these types of manga to keep my expectations low, but I do appreciate the implication of where this is going. From the title of the manga, there's a growing clarity that Tsubaki has always admired Otakei in some fashion, and from the events up till now that the manga he's drawing will be a cathartic joint creation in some manner (he's already taken the admirable initiative to be an 'exhibitionist' with it, basically making a not-Tsubaki character for a coming-of-age story, and she's already participated twice (at minimum) in his creations).

Desire is always non-negotiable, abstract and messy and we'll no doubt get something about how things were in Tsubaki's marriage, but the way every panel between her and Otakei was framed up till now provides the core tension alongside the shots of her wedding ring. The two are constantly framed, but always with a certain distance or contest between them, which might vanish as they pour more of themselves into the manga and by default, each other.

She definitely cared for her husband, but something about how quickly she picked back up the thread with Otakei makes me wonder if there isn't something deeper she's been waiting for. It's to be seen, but the way her sister-in-law acted does seem to imply something was performative or disjointed in or out of the marriage.

Right now she's (drunkenly) overlaying her husband onto Keita, but a poor first step at connection can still lead to connection, and Keita seems to be bit more graceful with feelings than most romance leads. As his past editor said, it's his job as a manga artist to be able to communicate with people, and his handling of feelings was the one compliment he received from his 'rival'.

The title of this chapter was about Keita, but it's ambigious on how much it also applies to Tsubaki. She could just miss her husband, or actually be crushed by regret over something in her past marriage. But it wouldn't be interesting for this drunken mistake to lead into anything than an 'in vino veritas' moment.

Either way, a bond can't be romantic without a firm platonic foundation, which is where we are right now. I hope the author won't drag this one out for a hundred chapters, but I'm not holding my breath.

Edit: Also can't forget that the first chapter said it was about 'those on the fringes of society'. There's evidently some kind of kinship between them.

Man the assumptions are something else. My religious practice is no touching til marriage, but I don't impose my values on other folks, and especially not on fictional characters. Though man, in my religious framework sharing intimated details of your sex life to try to win an internet argument is mortifyingly immodest.

Benefits be damned if you're grieving a loss, you don't truly love the person if "benefits" can make you move on faster.
Who says they've moved on just b/c they've remarried?

Lol 😆 of course I assume. Your literally doing the exact same thing. And what religion? You seem to be very scared to talk about. Just like talking about the deed. Maybe you should get out of your cult and actually have a conversation with normal people. Instead of trying to convert them to your cult. Lol 🤣 🤣 🤣

Ps your response to the other guy was so bad. That it literally proves how short sighted you are. Lol 🤣 🤣 🤣

Then dont remarry!
I never said I condoned it, just that men remarrying more frequently than women doesn't mean they're more likely to move on, which was in response to a poster's assertion that there's a gender difference to moving on.

You're literally doing the exact same thing.
What am I assuming?
Instead of trying to convert them to your cult.
I'm trying to convert people to the cult I won't name by telling you why your assumptions about me are completely off base?

Don't know people are jumping to the husband definitely dying due to the bike its yet not been clearly shown how he died. We could just see next chapter a regular memory of them riding together.
