Yeah the scene in the apartment needed a little more room to breathe. I quite like the hidden removal of her ring after airing some of her regrets and asking Keita to watch over her from now on. But we got from A to B too fast.
It's not the first time she removes her ring after Keita does something positive in her eyes. Seems to be a recurring theme.

I dunno, the further along this goes the less I understand about what the author’s endgame is between these two.

She’s clearly still deeply in mourning and in love with her dead husband. Has he only been dead for a year? In any case she’s only beginning to process it properly.

Meanwhile the MC has a crush on her going all the way back to their time in school. She’s his current muse as well, the only reason he’s drawing manga. An irreplaceable existence.

The timing is just wrong for them to get together.

Or what FMC should never find love or happines again ? She's to stay sad and pathetic just because YOU are a sad and pathetic piece of shit ?
I'm surprised at your interpretation of the other person's comment. What they're saying is that a rebound relationship is a disservice to both characters. No one is saying she can't find love or happiness again. She just needs to process her grief first because she is clearly still not over her dead husband. She isn't ready for a new relationship right now.

You're overreacting way too much

even though they're the same age, this story is thematically oneexshota. hes passionate yet immature and nervous. shes cheeky and experienced, but heartbroken. can he mature and become a man for her? can she regain some inocence and fall in love again? thats the whole plot basically.

Felt a bit rushed but good chapter overall. Seems like they are gonna do a lot more processing of her grief before anything happens with them

so she took the ring off, guess she feels she can start moving on
Ended up going back through cause I didn't notice her no longer wearing the ring, sure enough on page 17 it's no longer there after being very blatantly shown throughout. Makes perfect sense with her recounting the story of wanting to visit there and all, could see it being a sort of final sendoff, especially when taking the funeral story into consideration.

I just hope it actually was her taking it off, and not a situation where it came off and, for any number of reasons, she didn't notice. Even worse would be if the author themselves, somehow, forgot or didn't notice and we're just getting ahead of ourselves lol

Careful, some people in these comments are gonna jump you for having this reading on the story even though its a valid reading.... 😬
Lmao, previous chapter with the same angle and everything just replacing one character for anothet yet people giving me shit for calling a spadea spade.

Its a common thing people do when grieving irl. Its not a good thing nor healthy, but people are desperate to fill that hole.

Why is it that insults are the first thing you can come up with? Projection, or just retardation?

The guy you replied to never said she should remain single forever. Jesus christ, just grieve and get over your previous love before you go retracing and doing the same thing you did with the dead lover before you take another man out. She quite literally replaced him here in order to do the same thing as before

You're arguably providing a rather generous interpretation of what that other person said as well, if I'm being honest, given they said none of the things you yourself are claiming.

Yes, a "rebound relationship" would be a disservice, but that's your take, not the original commenter's. They just said Otakei being "a replacement" didn't sit well with them, with no follow-up.

Insults are unnecessary, but the last several chapters have had similar comments that have similar senitments in far less graceful terms. Some people seeing more of the same, even if less vitriolic, and interpreting it as such, isn't a stretch.

Ironically you're falling into the same pattern that her husband's family seemingly showed.

There are different ways of grieving, none of them particularly "right", and saying what she's doing his is "wrong" is pretty much what her in-laws have done.

When neither of these two are actively seeking a romantic relationship with the other, the idea of MC replacing the husband looses weight and says a lot more about how you yourself views relationships. "Wife has no husband, wife get new husband, wife replace old husband." You may think they're boiling people down to things but you are doing the same. This isn't real life, you can see and clearly tell what these people are thinking and put all of their actions into context. You aren't a child watching your mom or dad get with a new partner after an divorce or accident. You can process two people who have romantic undertones because of the narrative but separate that from their own choices in the story.

Hmmm I do understand other peoples point of views on this one. About the guys being a "replacement" and stuff like that... but the way I like to look at this story is a meeting were both help each other out were she goes through it trying to overcome her way of grieving and putting those feelings into place while the guy overcomes his failures of being a manga artist with her help while she gives him thr validation and push through the story.

Idk I feel like it is way better than thinking the girl is the only one benefiting on this when the guy is also winning quiet a lot in here. Like people say "he is exactly were he wants to be" maybe in the future the drama will hit harder but for now those are my two cents.
