I imagine that the Magikeepers have rules in place to keep witch killings to an absolute minimum but, given how extremely dangerous Fujimine is, they may deem it necessary to kill Tricaputo (one life to save many). I guess this arc will include Ichi finally learning about the downsides about the mentor-pupil contract, and thus giving him reason to not immediately jump into fights

Well, Desscaras has a heart symbol on her chest, and Fujimine has that, too, according to the last page, so I'd say she's the mentor.

So I'm not the only one thinking that even if the old lady dies, fujimine is totally not going to die as well, probably for some bs reason, right?

Yeah, for instance, say the contract's effect kills the mentor by crushing/stopping their heart. Fujimine could potentially just regenerate that through her magic, like she did after Desscaras' attack.

I feel like Fujimine would have switched to trying to kidnap the old lady as her first priority when she appeared if it was actually that critical of a weakness to her. She probably has a way to avoid the worst of the effects.

And this might also sound a bit psychotic but like, the old lady is a pretty old lady at this point. Imagine if some random old person could trade their life for that of the worst criminal in human history who was still active and dangerous... I feel like she'd be seriously considering whether to off herself as a takedown move or at least trying to use it as leverage against Fujimine being too active.

Honestly Ichi is pretty fucking weird lmao but that doesn't mean he's weird enough to join the bad guys. Look at gokuraku. He MODIFIED himself. He's SUPER crazy. Desscaras is also weird and Kumugi, is the most normal person there, which, is pretty weird in and of itself. Being that odd is the first step a mere man has to be to fight magic users. Or succeed in that environment. He's ALIVE because of that. Hell he resolved the hostage situation
