Serial killer? Sensei plot twist hm, I feel bad for the wife/kid

Tho , “convenience” aside other than getting rid of “bad kids” no one would miss/care about it’d prolly put more suspicion of one were to hurt /kidnap a kid within the school you work at versus a diff city, cram schools aside

This guy is living in the past. If he wants to sell haunted pictures they should be of Ghost Feet, he'd be swimming in money.
Japanese ghosts don’t have feet apparently tho lol

guess we will never know if that was a prophecy or a curse
I don't think we got hints of other bad things happening but depends on if we see him again versus it just being a one off/if the original story this got adapted from had some darker things to it

Dang, he's gotta look for some foreigner ghosts then
i mean he doesn't even have to go the supernatural route, tho i mean considering he's only offering it to kids, that might be weird as opposed to beach photos and showing it to like high schoolers or so

Honestly the prices he charged the kids were a deal. I was afraid one of the kids was going to steal one of the photos before it was burned and trigger something awful happening. You couldn't get away with this sort of story if it weren't a flashback from the narrator as modern kids would all presume the photos were photshopped or AI-generated. Thanks for the chapter.

I don't think the Photo Seller is a bad person? Yeah, taking advantage of kids to earn some pennies is fairly bad, but he might be (or might have been) warning them of something?
Pretty sure the Photoseller doesn't take money from kids for any monetary reasons considering he's a Ghost/Supernatural. Seems the money is a "requirement" which is why he says,"We'll just say you paid 10,000 yen" instead of explicitly stating she doesn't need to.

We're left with a lot of questions in regards to the Photoseller and sensei Kanamori, but I believe that the Photoseller is a cursed entity and Kanamori is his victim. Sensei seemed more concerned about money being circulated than the kids running into the man or even what they may see. It's fine to run into or met the man but they "must not give him money". Of course in the end it didn't matter since Photoseller 'gets the money'. Through taking the photo he has turned Kanamori into 'Master of the Haunted House'. Once his picture is bought and observed the subject expires, and maybe attempting to avoid that outcome Kanamori takes his wife and child and flees but curses can't be escaped.

Alternatively, Kanamori could already be possessed / cursed by the house itself and the reason PS shows the picture to the kids is because he's set to die soon in the accident so the picture will no longer have any value. Probably this latter idea, but it was a bit curious that the last time we see both Sensei and PS they're both wearing the same smile.

It reminds me of one quite well known site back in 2005-ish which showing ghost photos or just simply ectoplasm photo. Most of us believed the ghost in the photos were real, but after one of my friend just blurted out: "that just a photo of cigarette smoke!" The hype gradually went down and site was taken down not too long after.
Yeah, you can't make a logic of supernatural thing i guess. Like that's the charm of it. But, sometimes making sense of supernatural thing is the best thing to do.
It reminds me of a couple of supernatural hoax photos that came up at the same years, people weaponized it for religious fearmongering. The two photos that i still clearly remember were:
1. A photo of a very ugly man with cone head. The story went that man cursed for rebelling against his parent. Years later after i joined Biology department in university, i realized that stupid photo is just the face of manta ray skeletons.
2. A disturbing photo of woman-dog chimera with hunched body. They story went similar to the first one. She rebelled against her mother and desecrated holy scripture. She was cursed to be a dog as her punishment. Turned out it just a photo of deformed Saluki or Borzoi dog. Those dog breed kinda creepy to me tho, like their face kinda has human like feature.
Moral of the story is you can believe about ghost photo and the existence of a ghost but take it with a grain of salt. I believe ghost exist, but i also belive they are ton of scumbags out there who use the supernatural for their own pocket money.

This is good. The ambiguities surrounding this whole thing just add to the tension. Is Mr Kanamori a bad guy? Or is the photo seller the bad guy? Genuinely thought he'll do something when he appeared inside the school near the end. Tho that does confirm he's somewhat supernatural in a way. But Mr Kanamori tho. That picture doesn't flatter him at all. Is the photo seller warning the kids? What exactly are those photos?

It's interesting. My instinct is very much that the photo man is an evil spirit, and Mr. Kanamori was cursed by him. However, the fact is that the house itself was shown first, and yet bore no damage—this implies that the photo man's power, if it is a curse, is not so general as to be a curse of misfortune. Perhaps he can only affect his target, or only living things.

Another interesting tidbit is that Mr. Kanamori is the target of the photos first (his house is shown), and then he takes the lead in ridding the school of the photo man, but even as he does so, he is concerned first and foremost with the children getting ripped off. Therefore, we cannot say he was targeted out of vengeance. However, we could imagine that he might have somehow realized that the photo was of his house, or he saw the photo man outside taking his picture... both would be cause for concern.

Either way, the photo man feels much more sinister than Mr. Kanamori. He appears where he oughtn't. His stare is intense. He stands halfway in and out of a doorway. His presence is concerning to the main character...
