To be completely honest, I don't know which ending I like: This one or the anime one?!
By that I mean that both endings are satisfying and have their own merit!

While I prefer the manga for not dragging its heels for what feels like forever (season 2 complaint, season 1 was fine), I do prefer the world building and ending of the anime.

Having Chizeta Fahren and Autozam just be other planets in the same universe has far more interesting and sensible implications than the whole road network.
