It really should be Ludy/Ludi though, right? I know R/L is the same, but I'm fairly certain the official translation for the LN follows that. Ludivine is a french name recently, and the translation for her full name is Ludivine Marie-Ange de la Trèfle, and la Trèfle is Clover in French.
Also, Ludi does sound like Lewdy, which I'm sure is half the joke as well.
The manga also isn't following the LN version of events 1 to 1, so much like the car crash the mangaka apparently had(?) the pace is pretty breakneck and giving me whiplash. Not that the author doesn't just have moments where scene transitions just happen either, but the pacing is at least a little slower.
