Damn. She's going through it rather well. A lil bit too well in fact. Lost her husband to a war, taking care of her kid on her own, managed to get a work, becoming a famous author and now a kafna. She's pretty much the very embodiment of that "strong woman" people been talking about.

And here I thought Shagrazzat was based on Theo.

I remember in vol 6 extra, Sophie mentioned her husband was an explorer and that he “went on ahead to chart out the area we will all be living in someday”, ouch

Another thing, in chapter 38, during the giant spirit attack, Sophie comfort tepel by saying that everything will be okay, which is similar to her husband’s last words to her (it might even be the exact same since it was a different translator who translated ch 38)

Shagrazzat existed before Theo's story. After all, it was one of his favorite books. The series Magus of the Library in-universe is based on Theo's story.
