This manga feels almost defiantly committed to what it wants to be, which I usually like but here it feels forced. I prefer stories that give themselves a bit more breathing room instead of adopting this sort of "posture" almost like a person trying too hard to win your approval.

I was also enjoying the manga you mentioned and found myself disappointed* to see the protagonist essentially sabotage the narrative out of fear of responsibility.

What drew me in originally was the idea of someone helping girls who’ve developed a distorted sense of their own beauty because of societal pressures—guiding them toward rediscovering their self-worth. That premise had (could have?) a lot of heart.

In fact, it makes me imagine a low‑stakes fantasy concept:
a normal world is suddenly linked to a classic fantasy realm, but with strict government regulation on the passage between them, and magic unable to function on “ordinary Earth.” No grand conflicts—because that’s not the point—......
but in the fantasy world, magic has made most people extraordinarily beautiful. With access to their equivalent of social media, people on Earth start comparing themselves to these impossible standards. I wonder how society would react when confronted with beauty that is literally unattainable....I think it might work parallel to what Instagram is doing to us.
