Tbf, the first chapter outright tells you in the author note that this is a story of Kakeru finding out/identifying as a girl in "heart and body"(which is a japanese way of saying trans) and the magical aspect doesnt actually affect that(so it doesnt actually matter/is more flavor text than anything)I honestly would like to see him as himself (a boy) instead of seeing him as a girl at the end; cause that's what gender he originally was and now he replaced himself with his girl version of himself? he would basically lose his true self if he did this.
Maybe but the fact its stated the magical stuff doesnt actually play a part in Kakeru eventually indentifying as a girl leads me to more the trans route personally.Pretty sure it's more of an mtf fetish manga...
People do have kinks to see someone getting feminized and corrupted to acts like girls...
I also like the idea he still become boy or still can become both, but in chapter 11 umineko say that he will turn into girl the more often he uses the power to become magical girl, well is unfortunately if we can't see him in boy form again, but i hope he still can become boy in the futureI honestly would like to see him as himself (a boy) instead of seeing him as a girl at the end; cause that's what gender he originally was and now he replaced himself with his girl version of himself? he would basically lose his true self if he did this.
The answer is really simple if you take a single glance at Saneyaro's other stuff, specifically the other genderbend magical girl doujin, TS Magical Girl Pure Rabbit, where the male MC gets raped as a magical girl and is mind-broken up to the point he can't get it up anymore and has to get off as a girl.Pretty sure it's more of an mtf fetish manga...

Know where to find it?The answer is really simple if you take a single glance at Saneyaro's other stuff, specifically the other genderbend magical girl doujin, TS Magical Girl Pure Rabbit, where the male MC gets raped as a magical girl and is mind-broken up to the point he can't get it up anymore and has to get off as a girl.
Totally not a fetish.
I've completely forgotten about that (because manga doesn't live rent-free in my head), I hope he'll still be a boy in the future instead of fully becoming a girl cause that happens a lot in gender bends when it's about magic.I also like the idea he still become boy or still can become both, but in chapter 11 umineko say that he will turn into girl the more often he uses the power to become magical girl, well is unfortunately if we can't see him in boy form again, but i hope he still can become boy in the future
Next time give me a tl;dr please... I cannot read all of this.Tbf, the first chapter outright tells you in the author note that this is a story of Kakeru finding out/identifying as a girl in "heart and body"(which is a japanese way of saying trans) and the magical aspect doesnt actually affect that(so it doesnt actually matter/is more flavor text than anything)
Basically its a trans story of realization. So it will end with her as a girl, there is no "losing himself" but just "finding herself".
I think most people forget that note at the start; It also explains why a "boy" has magical power which is explicitly stated to be impossible at the start.
A big thing about Kakeru saying he's a boy all the time is that it could be denial, as a Trans person myself, I spent my first 16/17 years completely oblivious, then I joined an Anime club at my school and made a lot of close friends.Next time give me a tl;dr please... I cannot read all of this.
Also, I wouldn't really remember the first chapter due to it being 3 years since the last time I read it, the only thing I remembered from the first chapter was that he became a "Magical girl" even though umineko said he has no magic inside of him, supposedly.
I just thought he'll be losing himself cause it seems like he wouldn't transform back much to a boy if he slowly became a girl. even though many times he said he is a boy instead of a girl.
Basically, a lot of times in magical girl gender bends, the boy usually stays as a girl instead of returning to being a boy which I don't really like to see cause it feels off cause they'll say they are a boy a lot (like in this manga) then just suddenly stays as a girl.
My opinion though ^^
You're not wrong about the denial part, it could be that but we won't know till this manga is finished, (Most likely years away at this point) and I'll agree with you, though I didn't think about that because I've seen this trope in a lot of manga and I thought "oh it's gonna be one of those again, well time to hope he stays a boy till the end at least." because I've necessarily forgotten about chapter 1 note because I don't really keep "Notes" in my head, unlike the whole chapters.A big thing about Kakeru saying he's a boy all the time is that it could be denial, as a Trans person myself, I spent my first 16/17 years completely oblivious, then I joined an Anime club at my school and made a lot of close friends.
From 18-21 I self identified as a crossdresser/trap but still didn't feel right about myself, and then I started doing a LOT of self-reflection and meditation when I had it click that the reason I felt uncomfortable in my body was because it didn't fit how I saw myself in my head. So I started HRT the year I turned 25 and haven't been happier. I still have my issues, quirks and qualms, but I actually feel more or less in-line with myself.
Kakeru (and plenty of other characters from other manga I've speculated about in other threads) could just be in a denial stage. Granted, the journey of self discovery doesn't always make you different, it just helps one know who they truly are on the inside.
Whether the author actually has Kakeru stay a boy, or has Kakeru stay a girl, what'll matters the most imo is;
If Kakeru ends up happy or not.
TL;DR:
Just because someone says something doesn't mean that they mean it deep down.
Also, "Still cis tho haha 😅" is a long standing Trans community in-joke.
Also also, no one is wrong until the author finishes the manga.
Since I just discovered this manga a few weeks ago, it's all fresh in my mind. There are hints that Kakeru's really a girl inside from the start. The biggest are he was able to transform even though boys shouldn't be able to and his magical trait generated a cute, frilly girl's outfit when he did so. (The outfits are all determined by the magical trait, Umineko plays no role in them.)I honestly would like to see him as himself (a boy) instead of seeing him as a girl at the end; cause that's what gender he originally was and now he replaced himself with his girl version of himself? he would basically lose his true self if he did this.
