I guess the reason she can move on regarding her previous life's family is because she felt the family-love she needed in her current life. She doesn't go any further about her previous family just that it was a motherless household - so I'm guessing they don't really get along well. A lover is much different. She probably loved him so much she's having a hard time moving on.
