I don’t get what the mc is thinking, there is almost no ways this goes well.
His goal is to make Ikegai like him, but that’ll just make the itsuki alone once it all breaks down which is mean as hell, especially when they’re kinda friends. Plus the girl wouldn’t even want to be with someone who would do all this as it’s creepy.
He already knows that the girl likes Ikegai and has no feelings for him, even if he keeps pushing he can clearly tell he’s not really got a chance here.
At best he’s making Ikegai be alone, at worst he’s making everyone alone.
Plus once they find out about his identity, which I’m sure they will, then everyone’s gonna think like “why the fuck would you hit on a dude for so long just to get with a girl that likes him, that’s an idiotic idea.”
Anyways, I’m praying for the BL route, I’ll forgive the manga then

I feel like we still need a second "actual girl" piece in this jumble of a puzzle. This exactly, I do not get the point of pushing himself so far to just hurt himself and Ikegai just to go after a girl, there could've been far more efficient ways for him to deal this situation, if anything, he is stupid. If this manga doesn't end up with Hachiya ending up in Ikegai's bed then I'm bombing it with 1 stars.

Ok. So this is getting a li'l annoying to me. Every chapter is some combo of:
1. Hachiya is given a proper reason to move on and as a decent person support his friends instead of pursuing a doomed crush
2. Hachiya refuses to give up on pursuing the crush regardless.
It's like being stuck in a perpetual like Character development arc but the character refuses to let themselves develop? Like we get various events and basically outs for Hachiya to see how what he's doing is affecting those around him and he still comes back. Or even situations where he starts realizing (through his exaggerated reactions) that he may have stronger feelings for Ikegai than expected (and weaker for Hanazono) but its like he's locked in for his initial goal and the sunk cost fallacy hit and he doesn't intend on backing out, likely unless something drastic happens like his identity being revealed.

We can't stop until Hachiya starts being a girl 24/7.
If MC stopped to think for 5 seconds, he'd realize he's being a piece of shit and only plans to isolate and hurt Ikegai. I'm rooting for him to get the girl, but this is so insanely stupid that there is no possible way it would turn out right.

People are harsh on the guy, but Ikegai himself is just "whelp, guess I'm kinda obligated for being her fiancé" ... he hardly sounds like his life would be over if that engagement were to be broken.
I do kinda get the frustration of it running in circles (typical of romcoms of course), but gotta say, it's kinda rare and refreshing to read something of this type where for once you got no clue how on earth this is even supposed to end. Just hopefully not some sort of "and they continued like this forever" cop-out ... ^^;

Thanks for the update! It's fair of people to criticize the MC but also that kind of feels like missing the point that the whole premise of this manga is stupid and we can't expect it to follow real world logic. At this point the best case scenario imo would a poly triangle.
So another 2 months again? Wew... Not only the plot starts to annoy, the long wait actually kills the reading momentum.
On story, either they introduce a girl for Hachiya to help him move on from the female lead or have Hachiya transition into a girl and hook him up with the cousin.
I pity him for taking extreme steps but agree with lots of here. That is BS. Also what he gonna do if the secret is out?

I'm back after thinking about this chapter a bit more and rereading the past chapters.
Made me realize that it's not entirely fair of me to judge it for the progress, because it actually just doesn't help that it's bimonthly. This makes all progress feel much slower than it actually is. It's actually normal for most romcoms like this to still be here at chapter 15.
It is still frustrating tho. And it's almost to the point that I'm hoping we get a liar reveal (even tho I hate the trope) sometime soon to drive things forward and add a li'l angst. But I think a good way would be like others have mentioned, by introducing a new girl. And it'd honestly probs work best if this character served a few roles.
Like maybe she is the one who discovers Hachiya is crossdressing (aside from his family who already knows). And she is initially antagonistic and trying to go for one of the boys, like maybe just going after Ikegai kun for superficial reasons, but obvs with room to develop her. But Hachiya accidentally Rizzes her up like he did the cousin and she decides to try for him instead. And so she starts hanging out with both Maid and Guy Hachiya. And serves a bit for Hanazono as Kyousuke is for Ikegai: making Hanazono feel a bit of like loss (not necessarily of jealousy like Ikegai has been feeling but maybe) of her relationship with Hachiya.
Like maybe the new girl comes in like: "I'm going to hang out with Hachiya more, you have a fiancé anyways right so you something something no hang with Hachiya," or "something something you don't mind if I pursue him right?" And Hanazono starts thinking about how her friendship may be a bit messed up from how she's been (she already feels this a bit with her guilt so far) and maybe feels bad about trying to set him up (with himself) behind his back.
Its probs a li'l cliché but it would push stuff forward I feel. And then start working these characters through the situation until we get the Yaori ending we deserve. Where Hachiya just ends up with Ikegai and Hanazono at same time and as both Maid and Regular forme. The end.
