No, that's not the case. Sophia, Charlotte's mom, actually met Akihito, when he was young. She taught him English and before they parted ways, from what i remember she promised him that when she returns and he becomes a splendid young man, she will take him into her familly, since he is was an orphan. Oh, right, forgot to mention that it's not known whether she was a company president all along, or did she rise up to that possition. Anyway, all of Akihito's black past has to do with his step-father. As I said before, Akihito was an orphan before he was adopted by a certain rich familly. His now step-sister helped made it happen... or so we are made to think at that point in the Novel. Back to track, that said step-sister, when Akihito was still in the orphanage, helped him with his soccer career. After some time, they got to the finals or semi-finals and disaster struck, Akihito's orphanage went under and was gonna close down. So, to be able to play that match, he needed to find a familly that would take him in. Then he (kinda) got adopted into his new familly, but then he was put under house-arrest by his step-father for no apparent reason. He did manage to escape, but it was too late, when he got to the match, he saw his team losing massively and saw his best friend injure his leg from trying too hard to score a goal. (Forgot to mention that Akihito was a key player that carried his team with his tactics) After that he started feeling guilty that all of this was his fault, stopped playing soccer all-together and began his current scheme of boosting Akira'z reputation. Now, that weird house-arrest and the orphanage going under were all caused by his step-father because one of his clients had a son that lost to Akihito and gave him money to "make sure they lose".
