3. One or two female juniors who look up to Akihito may crush on him a bit. I don’t remember their names
4. Charlotte’s friend from England, who doesnt seem to have any sort of romantic feelings for Akihito as of the last LN vol i read

Admittedly haven't read much further than this in the novel, but I had heard that MC's mom or dad remarried and that's how Karin becomes his sister. That and the Novel is tagged with "Siblings not related by blood".

No clue why he talks as though he doesn't know her a chapter or two ago, though. I guess unless he only knows about the re-marriage and nothing else /shrug

Hard to get a true sense of how much time has gone by in-universe, but it doesn't look like that much time has passed so far in the story, so it's understandable how it looks like not much has gone on. Current manga chapter covered V2 Ch3 of the LN.

The next LN chapter gives a lot of insight into Shimizu and her wanting Akihito to be happy for himself. She hates his self-sacrificial attitude, knowing the person he truly is. She senses that Charlotte may be able to get him to break that villainous attitude, and she is spot on, given his current behavior shows inconsistencies with his true self leaking out a bit.

Akira finally directly confronts Akihito about his self-sacrificial attitude and guilt complex, and wants to help him free himself from his mental prison and start focusing on his own happiness.

V3 and V4 of the LN will delve deeper into Akihito's backstory, revealing the hardships he has faced since the beginning.

V3 of the LN will show that Akihito and Karin are fraternal twins. He was left at an orphanage from birth, so it makes sense that he'd have no idea about his biological family beforehand. So this kind of news would understandably be a complete bombshell out of nowhere.

Yes, it is this slow to give backstory. This chapter of the manga is about halfway through volume 2 of the LN. Backstory doesn't start to come until about three quarters of the way through volume 3, and then more about halfway through volume 4. So at the rate the manga is going, you're probably not going to find out what his deal is until around chapter 35-40, and then more in around chapter 50-55.
