Oregairu's author really created a horrifying precedent when other authors started to think a hachiman-type chuuni character is something incredible (not that I'd be saying Oregairu wouldn't have been amusing). This series makes such a big deal out of absolutely nothing that it's actually pretty amazing. Not in a million years teachers would be talking like that about a high scoring student, to another student to boot. Mentioning a trustworthy classmate lives in the next apartment might be believable since Charlotte is a foreign transfer student possibly needing urgent assistance. But that's it.

"She may not look like it, but she likes girls" Wow, childhood friend or not, that was a fucked up thing to say. The way the whole sentence is phrased makes is sound like she thought her friend, another teacher, was a fiend that would go after teen girls just because she's a lesbian. That and the fact that she was surprised she had such a lackluster reaction implies she expected her to freak out and still said that.

Moving past that though, it's nice to see a lesbian side character in a non-Yuri manga, even if she's probably not going to appear much. Stupidly rare for me to see that and wish it appeared more often.
