What are the odds of them still having to go to Human world?
But I am sure as hell stoked that Ameri knows of his secret and still wants to protect him! :meguupog:
After all she has fallen in love with him, lol. Even though he's a human, they had their sweet moments so Ameri got empathetic with him y'know:meguu:

It always feels like the mob npc parents aren't really his parents, and that it's most likely Delkira + a human woman who are.

As a reminder, several arcs ago Iruma discovered that Kiriwo knows he was a human, and would potentially expose his secret to his friends so that Kiriwo could eat him.

And despite all that, the human world frightened him even more than that.
I would argue what frightens him is not the world, but rather losing the demon world and having to go back to the hellscape that is the human world from his perspective.

Yes, I see the irony of comparing Jews and demons. I'm owning it.

The series does it itself referencing the 72 demons of Solomon as depicted in the Ars Goetia

That's something I never considered but it would explain why they sold him for beer money.

And here i thought we gonna got some lovely dovey date with Ameri in human world #sigh
I mean, at this pace, Bachiko and Mephisto are going to chaperone the two of them, and meet Ameri's mom in the process.

It feels weird that we went through all this trouble to set up a situation where Iruma would end up back in earth to reaffirm his resolve to stay in the underworld, only to leave it as a trauma that isn't properly confronted 400+ chapters in.

I have been wondering that for an extremely long time now. There is no reason why his parents would be that shitty to him...sure some parents are absolutely terrible to their children, but this is just a whole other level of that. Sure, it may have been played up for laughs occasionally, but on the whole they are terrible and are presented as such. These parents of his are not his real parents and may have just been pushed into "raising" him for Delkira and his real mother, but really they wanted NOTHING to do with him.

The other option is the sadder one: he is an orphan and has no parents at all. His parents (whether he is Delkira's son or not) are just not in the picture. These 2 individuals are either people who just happened to pick him up one day and thought he COULD be useful to them OR they are just a figment of his imagination as his mind is trying to justify his shitty treatment by putting it all on parents that don't actually exist.

No matter what, he has trauma from living in the human world because he was treated terribly and lives a great and fulfilling life in the demon world. He would not want to give up that life no matter what, even if he knows there is a possibility of being forcibly returned to the human world.

Well, half of that is Christian stuff.
Demons aren't like that in Judaism. They're just free-agent angels that have to eat and have chicken feet, and generally just inconvenience you (Give you aches and pains, make your clothes wear out for no reason, make you feel mildly claustrophobic...)

It's more stuff like all the kiddush cups (though they're gold in the manga and glass in the anime while most irl ones are silver), his bar mitzvah, the letters/numbers (though they're not used the same way), the ... unfortunate in theme in many ways Many-ears arc (their story is our story, but the land they annex was actually vacant... Free Palestine), all the characters with prominent peyos/peyot (pronounced "pay us/pay oat")... There's more, but I'm firmly convinced that if I go to Shabbos services the next time I'm in Japan, Nishi will be there.

The way and which elements ramp up over time indicate to me that Nishi is converting or converted, and converts go to services more often, generally.

I don't know that I'll actually end up talking with them, or know if I am, but it's a funny thought.
Strong indications sprinkled in that it's Conservative/Masorti Judaism, which is ironically one of the more progressive strains of Judaism. Basically, tere are a lot of things that focus on traditions and it's really heckin queer.

Aaaanyway, it's heckin awesome in every way. This series has everything.
Action, laughs, drama, romance! Queers, polycules, Judaism!
Femboys and lesbians!

Not the panic attack just seeing the human world. You know honestly, I'm proud of Iruma for properly recognizing how NOT okay his life was before. In the earliest chapters he didn't seem to have a lot of care and recognition for his own well being and happiness. Now he does. Oddly enough I'm glad he associates the human world with trauma because it means he knows what he went through was unacceptable.

I like this chapter. It's played off for jokes a lot, but I like the way this chapter shows that the way he was forced to live in the human world left serious scars
