Not really, it seems like the kind of thing that would be necessary to actually keep people imprisoned in the Netherworld, since dangerous and powerful prisoners would be able to break through if not. Some random devices automatically performing counterspells seem really broken and out of nowhere. Not to mention how if they existed, they should've been in active use preemptively all along, without needing the extra motivation from the attack.
People often don't worry about security measures until they have a reason to, especially in places they think are perfectly safe. Heck, I know people that don't even bother to lock their doors when they leave the house because they're convinced nobody would steal their stuff, and that's even after they were informed that theft is a possibility they should consider, and then there are stores that only get better security systems in place after a major theft. Some random devices automatically performing counterspells seem really broken and out of nowhere. Tbf, they're a lot more capable of something like this than doing homework, so it makes sense they wanted to play into their strengths (it's what's allowed them to come this far,) and they may have pulled it off if they had more information 🤔Knew the plan wasn't going to work. Just do the homework!
Maybe even another spinoff series if the author is willing 😜We need a chapter dedicated only to the familiars![]()
Like people ironically still use 123456 as password wtf.People often don't worry about security measures until they have a reason to, especially in places they think are perfectly safe. As for it being "broken," it's probably not all that broken. Heck, the fact they only have it in place in specific rooms indicates that it takes effort and resources that make its uses limited (much like how you can't cover everything with cameras and other security devices and need to pick and choose your priorities.) And all of this is before you factor in the inconveniences that such systems typically cause (like how the wording implies you can only apply reactions to certain spells, not have it determine friend from foe, meaning it'd even negate teachers in an incident.) Such devices also commonly have a weak point that can be exploited, so it's doubtful it's really as all powerful as you seem to think. 🤔
