Ball is one of the 13 crowns, leaders of the demon world (under the demon king, semi-adjacent to the three greats). He's also the uncle of Sabro, one of Iruma's classmates (The "I will be the demon king!" otaku). He's ALSO the leader of the Six Fingers, the group that's trying to bring demons "Back to Origin" (ie, their truly evil and classically demonic selves). He's ALSO the sempai of Amy Kiriwo, the magic battler guy who iruma befriend before he tried to literally blow up the school.

So yeah, he's the big bad of this entire series.

Baal really played this perfectly with these incremental plays that let him tear it all down like this. I think if the worst case scenario happens we may get a full Iruma in human world arc where he punches his way back through with Alikred. The parallels between Iruma as delkiras successor is also really interesting, I think the reason he disappeared is that delkira fully reincarnated as "the perfect human" to match who he was as "the perfect demon".

We're getting to the climax of the manga it feels like, so I imagine the good guys will be placed on the absolute brink of destruction before things start to turn around.


We're absolutely going to hit the "worst case scenario".

I still doubt Sullivan becoming Demon King himself would save Iruma. The story is about Iruma and it should be Iruma's own capabilities and friendship forged throughout that would get him out of this mess.

Also, I love how the flower text bubbles depict Shura is a being above all.

Baal played his role masterfully, deserving an Oscar nomination for his 'Why? Me? I'm just a poor guy' charade.

I believe (though her name is written in katakana), that Shura's name may be based on Shura/Ashura (修羅). That name can also mean 'carnage, conflict, strife', so I'd bet her revenge on Baal, once she finds he bamboozled her the entire time, will be... brutal.
