I gave the anime a lot of flak for rearranging the story arcs so the 13's Dinner and the Devidol games were in the latter half of the season.

That might have been a good choice.

I'm really confused because the princess girl shouldn't have that much power to just appoint someone as demon king since i think her social status is between the demon king and the three greats. i'm pretty sure that since she's the princess, there's probably someone in a higher position than her within the deities that thinks she isn't making the best decision

She kind of does. During the 13's secret dinner, it was explained that Deities (the race that the princess belongs to) were a higher race that reigned over the Netherworld long before the demons came. Their bodies are one with the elements and nature of the Netherworld, so more forces of nature than living beings with power in them.

So even if she is JUST a princess, the fact remains that a Deity is in support of Baal, which is considered to a huge boost. Even if someone higher than her rejects her proposal, it's still in Baal's advantage.

But, this does remind me of Thoth, from the Harvest Festival.

It's not really confirmed if he is a Deity, he introduced himself as a Thoth the Genie during the harvets festival, but Iruma thought of Thoth when deity was mentioned and an image of someone who looks like him was shown during the explanation about deities, so chances are he is one.

I don't know if he's gonna make an appearance here or what he can do, I think I'm just grasping at straws and just bringing in any setups I can remember, Even if it's getting a Deity on his side.

I think what Azz-kun is thinking now is "How do i tell all my classmate about Iruma is a human, and convince them, and their family to rescue iruma". And then be flabbergasted by all his classmate response about the situation, and will form revolutionary army for baal become a demon king temporarily and for mainly rescuing Iruma, if baal became a demon king it will be guaranteed to have 2 faction, Delkira and Baal faction. Meanwhile 2 grandson will form a party with Iruma's rescuer army because 3 Great demon will be at surveillance by Shura's men and can't do anything except waiting for the team to win. Baal Faction will do anything to win and that is using Shura's foolishness until she can't be used anymore, that moment will take her to Iruma welp she got abandoned. She is a princess but i'm expecting her to have political meeting with her race? And i convinced that her race have a contract sign by Delkira too, to not meddling with the demon politics. So she can't do anything or.. Burn the evidence that signed by her Father and Delkira like Baal burning the contract. Like its not fair because of a princess whim, all of netherworld got the nail. I'm expecting Iruma's friend, teacher and their family + 13 crown as a neutral or maybe a few of them will helping behind the scene, but im sure Bachiko will helping with all the Heroes. Versus all the Baal Faction and that is Narnia's dog which is the millitary with all the juiced built up, not the normal millitary. I'm sure they have so many cruel experiment that will distorting all of the millitary mind and body to the point of abnormality and many of em went berserk like the gluttony that's when they all realize that Baal is the one behind all this, and when all of them are beaten, Baal would come down and facing them head on, when baal almost got beaten, he will take 3 grandpa/ma and want to force Iruma to surrender and got his blood extracted for the Delkira something. And there's when Iruma went to full Evil Cycle or ascended that cycle and became Demon Cycle successfully rescuing 3 great granpa/ma, and Baal got beaten by his own cockiness. ITS JUST MY OPINION.

I must have missed where that was stated? I was under the impression that deities/majin/genies outranked demons, period. Like, only the 3 greats are even allowed to approach her without invitation (which is why Baal had to orchestrate the whole attack/rescue to get her attention in the first place), that implies she's even less accessible than the demon king himself.

There's a fun double meaning here with the bouquet from chapter 325 appearing behind Baal on the cover. On one hand it very literally represents Princess Shura backing him, but on the other it also serves as a reminder of how hard the hammer's gonna swing down on him the second she finds out hes been tricking her, once you remember the flowers' meanings and all. A "really troublesome woman" indeed.

Correct. In contrast to the Demon King, 3 Greats and the 13, who oversee the DEMON World, Majins oversee the Demon WORLD. Shura especially outranks ALL of the Majins we've seen before. Whatever she says become reality, literally.

To a certain extent I'm sure that Shura was not part of the story when Baal was originally introduced but since he needed to have a way to pressure the three greats who are just fully capable of beating his ass Shura was created at some point. But it is interesting how the deity race had been shown before her introduction through the mythologized backstories of several demonic bloodlines. With Deities said to be the reason why these bloodlines have the powers they do.

So it'll be interesting to see how Shura plays out as a character from hereonout because she's been used mostly as a plot device so far and while we've been told Baal is playing with fire by tricking her I'd love to actually see the fire sometime soon rather than just hearing about it. It's also interesting to think that since she's a child, she's probably too young to have been alive when Delkira was on the throne (same thing for Baal honestly, while we haven't been given official numbers his older brother was classmates with Ameri's dad who fell in love and had a kid pretty soon after graduating and Delkira had already been gone for a while by then).

Overall Shura is currently purposefully naive and no demon has the authority to inform her of that without reprisal. So with Baal's plan coming to fruition I'd love to see her become more of a character in her own right than just the accesory Baal was given by the story to get ahead.

The way the manga talks about the Deity race gives the impression that to the demons, they are eldritch.

Sure they may be friendly and interact (Thoth), sure they may be benevolent (Harpenus) but they are completely alien to the demons (Shura)

Shura may be young and naive but she's still a power beyond demonkind. Baal may think he has control of her but i wouldn't be surprised if he ends up losing control of a power beyond understanding.
