Not really. The next major arc, the one the raws are currently at, is actually the oft-mentioned music festival. Complete with a "new" character getting some development and screentime. Then again, HeroAca had a school festival right after it's longest arc in the series, and that's a battle manga so... xD

Not really a pure battle, more like a point collecting battle. They can't directly harm other participants, after all.

If you're talking about the manga's development, so far, harvest fest just ended and now they're moving onto music fest. I'm pretty sure there would be disturbances again like it did with the current arc and Walter park arc, so yeah, it feels like it's heading towards a classic shounen battle.

Purson Soi isn't a "new" character. He's intentionally left behind by the author. Considering his characteristic as someone who vanishes.

I mean, look. The author is pretty simple. There are 666 students in total. The tower has 666 floors. The council is made of 13 people. Shax lives in the 13th residential building on the 13th floor. Numerologies like these are everywhere in the manga. Isn't it weird then that the misfit class only has 12 students despite that? Purson Soi is the thirteenth student of the misfit class.

Also, chapter 101. Page 18. Abnormal Class Training Report, held by Eggy-sensei. There are 12 names there but 13 boxes checked.

but there are some differences since the main objective is gathering resources to accumulate points.

Expect a long arc people that focus on showing the development of every abnormal student, plus introducing some new characters with a twist in the end.

I know this, hence the quotations around the "new". It's more like he's a character that barely existed until Chapter 147, so he might as well be new, even though he completely isn't and has been seen with the class. I also know about the checkmarks, and Purson's even showed up in a panel during the final exam.

...somehow I didn't put together the fact that the Misfit class had 13 students, despite significant numbers like that appearing everywhere in this manga. Thanks.
