Well all the traits come in a variety of forms. They don't all have to be optimal in combat. Throughout the manga, it has been shown that strength doesn't mean rank, and you can showcase your talents in other forms. Otherwise Asmodeus and sabnock would be the highest rank instead of iruma. It's like Jazz bloodline trait as well. It's utility. Jazz can't really use his trait in combat either, but of course if you take a trait outside of it's field it would be less useful. His trait would work well as an analytical trait and basically an appraisal skill. It doesn't have to be combat oriented to be good.
