I'm somehow a little sad that Beem's lifelike painting was a bloodline ability and not sheer skill.
Same, I think it would be cooler or more impressive if his paintings were just so horrifying that people thought they were alive.
Actually, I think otherwise.
From the very small snippet of
Chapter 336, there was already hints that Beem had a bloodline ability related to his painting skills, with his father saying stuffs like "But art is our family tradition" and that his mother were leisurely taking him to art exhibits when he was a toddler. This suggest that his parents didn't really think much of their bloodline ability apart from "it just makes the pictures we make move", which is why they initially didn't think much of introducing art to their child.
But Beem is different, he doesn't just make pictures move, he straight up gives his paintings
SOULS through his stories, as shown in
page 16 of the aforementioned chapter. His bloodline ability isn't what made his parents forbid him from making art, it was his own sheer skill and dedication towards fleshing out his artworks that amplified the ability to the wazoo.
So it could be taken that Beem's predecessors weren't really taking their ability to their fullest potential, that they only created moving fiction while Beem makes moving realities.
