If this 'freelancer' can't even do the basics of scanlation, then why are they even trying? It's SUPER EASY not to misspell the word 'deadbeat'. It's SUPER EASY not to forget literal punctuation. It's SUPER EASY to not do a half-assed job and actually translate everything on a page instead of skipping half the text, since apparently translation is the only thing they can marginally do right. Again, SNIPING and DOING A SHIT JOB OF IT is just an embarrassment.

People like to use the excuse "um don't be a meanie-weenie to people who do stuff for free" like that absolves them of butchering the manga for no good reason. Have some standards, people. It was going to be scanlated eventually, why accept this trash in the meantime? You guys are why groups like SSSSS exist.

I’m glad this cleared up now. Regarding to the latter part of your comments, I have no complaints. I’m only stating my opinion that people can’t expect it to be good and then bash them for trying to put out a chapter to make people happy.

@CimmicaCocoa I'll guess we'll agree to disagree on bashing free stuff. In fact, this 'free chapter' is actually detrimental to the manga as a whole, so it deserves the bashing. We already had an active group for the past 2 weeks putting out good chapters at a decent rate. Now with this 'free chapter' shit, it's become a free-for-all where we get 2 shit groups putting out trash, and this causes other good groups to drop it. Cyan Steam already dropped it when Wicked House bullied them out of it. Wicked House dropped it when /a/nonymous took over (although /a/nonymous was actually a complete improvement, unlike this chapter's laughable release). SSSSS has already sniped ending chapters with other manga and caused the original groups to drop them, if you didn't know.

So I hope you guys enjoy a future where all you get for Iruma is shit scanlations since all the good groups don't want to deal with all this sniping. This chapter should NOT make people (who understand how scanlation works) happy, and NO ONE should condone this crap.

@StorageCrate My message wasn’t that your criticisms of this TL are invalid - heck, I agree with most of it. I’m fine with you giving constructive criticism. What I dislike about your comments is your apathetic attitude towards the TLer. You can get your point out there, but there isn’t a need to be extremely toxic and badmouth the chapter - that helps no one, and most certainly doesn’t help the author improve from the mistakes that you’ve pointed out. Also, sorry, but assuming that I hate this manga for defending the scanlator is just outright stupid. For one, being baselessly accusatory in your argument does nothing but degrade your own credibility, since they don’t address the key points of my comment at all and make you seem like a jerk. Secondly, I wasn’t even defending the TLer, I was critiquing your attitude. The TLer is completely unrelated to anything I’m saying, as I’m mostly talking about being nice instead of being cancer. Lastly, I love this manga, otherwise I wouldn’t be reading Chapter 62 of it. I said previously that I wouldn’t respond, but I need to clear the air here. Also, I apologize for my fairly abrasive wording in the beginning of my first comment, I was decently upset at that point due to the lack of care in your words. Note that I’m almost certainly not going to reply again, please be a bit more mindful when commenting criticism that you’re talking to real people and be nice in your criticisms, MangaDex turning into 4Chan would be a nightmare (and I agree with giving the TLer solid constructive criticism, so they can correct their mistakes for next time. This is their first scanlation, after all).

Also, before you say anything, no, I don’t agree with sniping. I don’t think it was a good idea for this TLer to have translated this manga as their first project, and I’m not defending them for it. I’m just sick and tired of seeing toxic attitudes such as yours all over this website, and while I understand that it’s important to speak up on an issue such as this, please be a bit more civil about it, for the sake of maintaining a positive atmosphere on this platform and creating a place where goddamn comment wars such as these don’t take place

@GrimThoughts Yes, I am a jerk, because someone needs to be. Feel free to pussyfoot around and say "well it's not THAT bad, the scanlator tried their best, they just need some improvement". That does NOT help anything. They shouldn't have even put out chapters IN THE FIRST PLACE because the manga is already getting a good-quality scanlation. These new chapters have basically doomed the scanlation for this manga, so if that's what you wanted, go ahead and keep defending the scanlator because you don't want to be ~toxic~.

See, if they had done a scanlation of a completely different manga that actually NEEDED a scanlation, I wouldn't have said anything. And you know why? Because they would be free to practice and improve on a manga that DOESN'T ALREADY have a good group working on it. But they've given us complete shit here, so now we're stuck with complete shit because all the ACTUAL GOOD GROUPS ALREADY WORKING ON THE MANGA will have left.

Maybe you've never heard of the SSSSS group? Well they've done the exact same thing for several different manga. Nyanko Days used to have a regular scanlator, but alas, not anymore! Ever since they sniped and put out shit chapters much like with Iruma. Same for other manga like Urara Meirochou and even Iruma itself, although I bet you also think jumping to chapter 107 and 123 for this manga was good too. They are literally the reason that we're now allowed to block groups on Mangadex (unfortunately, I can't block this Taco asshole because he filed it under "no group"). But this kind of crap scanlation needs to be dissuaded, and if someone has to be the big bad ~toxic~ jerk meanie that does it, then I'm cool with it being me. I'm here to defend the manga, not any shitty scanlators, since it seems like the latter is your prerogative.

Now that /a/nonymous has put their version of the chapter out, here's my final opinion: it's still complete trash.

@TakoTaco00 should just stick to translating since he can't edit or typeset for shit. And after comparing the two chapters, he can't even translate well either, and he left so much untranslated that it's just pure incompetence.

-I mean, what the fuck even is "imaginary biology"?
-And how can you fuck up the translation on page 15-16 and pull "The usual Iruma will eventually return" out of your ass?
-Also, translating "studying high" as "high studies"? What kinda ESL shit is this?
-Where is the rest of the translations for the text on pages 4, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 20?

Jesus christ, the difference in quality is incomparable. And I noticed that he only translated bubbles and left literally everything else handwritten untranslated, so I'm pretty sure he just used a machine translation. How else can you fuck up so badly even with all the context?

I'm glad /a/nonymous is still hanging around, although who knows if they'll keep working on it as long as incompetent snipers still exist.

@Shockmaster Thank you, I completely agree. There was literally no reason to pick up this CURRENTLY-BEING-TRANSLATED manga when you don't even know how to scanlate, yet he did it for 'fun'. Yeah, that's complete bullshit.
