Isn't the witch, assuming she even is a witch, which I somewhat doubt, a kidnapped person? Dude should allow her to go back to the forest, but instead he's counting her as a part of the village now. Based on their first encounted, she's a spirit like a dryad, maybe an anthropomorphised mandrake.

I think she didn't get that he won't hurt her again, can understand, and she must want to help too, she understood what happened and wanted to give some help.

But how this will evolve will depend on how Agredios will react if she wants to leave, I don't think he will try to stop her with force, the whole attack was a mistake on his part which he recognizes, but I think he will try to at least talk with her.
