The paper with a leaf says something like "jakusausaiju taka ittjaujatu". Or something close to it. I'm not too familiar with those runes, and the first "word" is cut off.

I could never see Satsuki as a potential partner for the MC, her character is too much of a muscle-head and she has no common sense because of her master.

I won't comment on any romantic pairing potential, but Satsuki would make a great lifelong kind of traveling companion for him. Maybe she settles down as captain of the guard when the MC marries his princess.

That F rank team is going through a constant trial by fire. They'll be B rank eventually, dragged there kicking and screaming, I suspect. Their luck is the kind that lets them survive and grow, so it'll be slow and painful but ultimately get them to a place they never imagined being.
