Ditto. "It won't be erased by that ring you said," is just not good English. If you're worried about the space, "It won't be erased by that ring," would work fine in context.

Also, "That kind of thing... I don't want it," (p.25) is pretty unnatural, too. "Not interested" or "No thanks" would be much better.
