Somebody who likes you immediately, "love at first sight," probably doesn't like you for the right reasons, either shallowness if its just because you're attractive or desperation if its just because you're available. Its much more natural and healthy for someone to develop feelings after repeated exposure to a person and getting to know them

Also, his reason for not writing down his name is because he's got a low self esteem and didn't think himself worthy of being a part of their fun, nothing to do with romance

Nah, wasn't talking about that, but rather about a relationship not solely formed because he is helping her get together with another guy, even if she now went for him it'd feel like he's the second choice, though that's just my opinion, it makes it even weirder that she kind of likes mc now, but still goes after the other guy with his help (?)
