This is shounen, and somehow with romance? Shounen and romance don’t usually goes well together. It’s always either harem (which is not romance), ecchii full of fan service, or the kinda MC which scream “I’m sure he’s in love and obsessed with this rival/comrade guy, but somehow he still married women in the end”. Most shounen is basically just BL content without BL sex/ending. But I’m looking forward to it, I would love to be proven wrong

If you've read up to the most recent chapter, what are your thoughts now? I personally don't think it fits any of the stereotypes you've listed (but again, for a shonen it does also get a little too real with the sexual and child abuse)

Love. She very much likes him from the very start and she starts to love him right around the start of the school arc. If you love someone of course you will be invested in them, That's part of the definition of Love.

You just prove my point with “BL IS ABOUT THE HOMOSEXUAL ROMANCE between men! Even if there’s no sex involved”.

Let me put you in the perspective of normal romance. Do you know naruto? Imagine sasuke is a girl, and he get married with naruto at the end of series. The entire series would turn into one of the most dramatic, touching, beautiful romance franchise ever existed. All naruto ever think about is sasuke. For naruto, sasuke is the beginning and the end, the alpha and omega, his motivation and reason. 80% plot of the entire series is basically naruto chasing after sasuke, trying to bring him back into his arms, ready to forgive anything that he does even going as far as willing to face the consequences of sasuke action together with him. Naruto willing to accept and forgive sasuke at his absolute rock bottom. That’s just raw romance.

My point was most shounen using every bit of romance characteristics without actually being a romance, and since it’s between boys so basically it’s a BL.

not all the Shounen but yeah most shounen series have mc chase after some guy like mc in love with the guy. I would say most shounen series from Shounen jump has similar pattern. Mc barely date or even talk with girls, most of time mc goes on chase after some guy. Legit its annoying af

6.5/10, maybe a 7. Art is amazing, paneling is superb, story is horribly flawed. Imuris whole character IS the contradiction to the story, it isn’t a character internal contradiction. The manga is a shounen but you could call it a shoujo the way the plot continues it’s stupid love charades. How can she care and care about the main character if she is hurting him? Didn’t she do it before? Our supporting characters knew about her true form since the start but just let it be? Why do they keep letting the witches free? Why tf is dante chilling with prostitutes if he is now gay? Didn’t he just beat his ex to a pulp? Now he wants to kill him self to relieve the stress of it?
Like I was saying the story is almost like a horrible shoujo manga that keeps adding stupid love ideas as it increasingly gets worse till it reaches a horrible conclusion in order to keep its not so smart readers.

mangadex doesn't even have most of the chapters (and it has even less content thanks to the recent purge)
