hoping for a solid "Mareshino fell first but Kureha fell harder" scenario out of this, the switch Mareshino showed from not wanting to spend the night worrying over Kureha's answer to suddenly telling Kureha to stop whining was pretty funny tho

thanks for the chapter!

I'm excited to find out if Mareshino is proposing this entirely to try and topple her competition for the title, or if she's starting from a place of liking Kureha, and is maybe using the competition as pretext/a cover story.

I can't imagine she doesn't fall for her entirely before the end, whatever the starting motivations. But the tone of everything (even retroactively) would change drastically depending on which of the above options are true. So it'll be interesting to see if/how the texture of their interactions change once that bit of info comes to light.

Maybe this is what the creator wanted, to make two factions waging war of debate on whoever the best top...
Well, duh :nyoron:
Just like any other yuri manga with two girls competing in something
This genre became quite popular lately (Even though I'm not much of a fan and dropped quite a few titles...)
So yeah, this ain't my first rodeo :pepehmm:

This. From the start, I felt like it was Mareshino who REALLY liked Kureha and was using the competition as an excuse to go after her. I'm pretty sure she wouldn't mind winning, but to Kureha, winning is the end-all-and-be-all of this whole thing. Kureha is serious about the competition and so is Mareshino, to an extent, but Mareshino ultimately just wants Kureha.

Not only that, but I think Mareshino somehow suspects Kureha's harem plan and this is also a way of disrupting it so she can have her for herself.

"we would come to know each other in a much deeper way."

Oh okay, metaphorically, gotcha.
And now we get to the starting line.
I really hope this does well and goes to completion rimshot because it seems very promising.
I agree. It’s a rivalry where both’s main goal is not yuri related, but they made the means to that end a yuri battle. I like the art too. Thanks for translating!
