What's the point in buying an uncensored echi manga when you could just buy a hentai if you want to get your rocks off?
Or is it the case that under 18 can buy uncensored echi manga but not hentai?

Whats the point of chapters like that when half of the page are black squares? Just leave it as extra chapter for the volume release lol.

Black bars, the manga lmao
When your mangas' whole point is just censored by a black bar. Just hilarious, not even mad at this point

Ecchi = H. "Hentai"= perverted, and a western concept as to Plot and Sports.
In Japan, this manga can only be found in the Adult section, even with the Bars of Doom.

As peeps explained, it's a trick to whet the appetite for the tankoubon under the guise of "propriety".

And as-is there's no way this can be redrawn, not with the huge-ass bars covering everything. At least not to any level of accuracy. Too many details to miss, too much work requiring a reasonably accomplished artist.
Only thing is to wait for a tankobon edition, which has smaller bars or mosaic, which is far easier to redraw.

Such is our long-suffering life...

Ok can someone clarify if this was actually printed or officially digitally released anywhere with these black bars? I'd find that very surprising. I'd think it's just done by whoever scanned this or something, in a quick and half-assed way just to comply with laws, for what they view as a draft preview release or something.
There is no way in hell these make it to any sort of print release, or even an official digital release.

It's also interesting to note how some panels have a much smaller magic light or smoke censoring as opposed to giant black bars. The first is clearly by the artist, the second is some post-processing by whoever rushed this draft release.
On that line of thought, why is the first type of censoring even done if it's not applied everywhere but just in some places? Maybe it is actually everywhere, but whoever prepared the release thought it was insufficient and added their own?

Lastly, on one panel they even censored the man's nipple, along with half his chest. Is that also necessary in Japanese laws? WTF, Japan!

I like big bars and I cannot lie, you other brothers can't deny, when a page comes up with an itty bitty text and a giant bar all in your face you get-
fed up and close the fucking browser window cause what's the fucking point?

It's like trying to watch scrambled playboy on an old analog TV.

digital manga is always like this, both to sell the proper release, but prob also a sort of policy from their host websites. it's uncensored now btw, so it's def not the scanlators. this is very common when it comes to ecchi manga.

to the point others make of "why not buy hentai", while not the case here, some stories use nudity and things that would normally be censored for impact at times, so it's not impossible to find a story where nudity and crassness is important to the story without being "just hentai". also availability since hentai would be limited to 18+ and whatnot. volume release would have a larger audience.

also regarding the occasional different censoring, that might be because the uncensored version still has said part censored (specifically the penis and vagina usually).

this has been my talk about censoring in manga, cheers.
