I mean Smartphone Isekai and this series are in different standards, they have different expectations. It's not really fair to compare garbage that is expected to be garbage, and garbage that is expected to be something more than that.

Smartphone is a shounen, the expectations are that it has two dimensional characters, story with the depth of a puddle, and have a painfully childish view of morality. You expect it to always be stupid shit and be very surprised when it isn't. This meanwhile is seinen, meaning it's for more mature people and should have expectations of at least something better than the former. It can still have all the same faults, but it's supposed to be at least a little bit more nuanced and rational than shit for kids.
