Feels like the author was writing this entire thing to get to this one moment. That's not a bad thing, that's how writing usually goes (reaching points that you had preconceived). This is a very impactful scene, it's well made. But I'll venture a guess that there won't be much continuation on this story, since author probably doesn't have inspiration beyond this scene
